Opening Doors: Small Business Opportunities in Federal Government Contracting – #TheAECsOfMarketing

SMPS Pittsburgh presents the final #theAECsofmarketing event of the season. During this event, Judy Kirby will lead a discussion on doing business with the federal government, including how to search for government leads, navigate government contracts, and register your business throughout the government system.

PRESENTER: Judith Kirby

Originally from Chicago, Judy has more than 35 years of government service. Her career began with Internal Revenue Service. After 18 years she switched gears and transferred to the Small Business Administration where she started as a commercial loan specialist. When the SBA decided to centralized loan processing, Judy transferred her skills to federal contracting.

She quickly earned and maintains a Federal Acquisition Certification for CONTRACTING – Level 1. Presently she is a business opportunity specialist in the Pittsburgh District Office. She is responsible for developing firms that have been certified as Socially and Economically Disadvantaged (8a) in a nine-year program to gain access to the economic mainstream of American society. Responsibilities also include providing assistance through consultative and customer interactions with small businesses, procuring entities, collaborative partners, resource partners and the general public regarding SBA programs and services.
